We’ve put together the following guidance for you to take a look at, which explains how to post a message and vote in a poll plus much more besides.

By registering with this site you agree to abide by the following rules.

These are the rules. They help keep the discussion safe and about the issue.

We will check everything before it goes on the website. All the people checking the site are trained by the Hansard Society and have passed checks by the Criminal Records Bureau (UK).

All discussion should be lively positive and respectful.
Don’t offend people
because of their race, religion, gender, nationality, sexuality or other personal characteristic.
Don’t swear, use hate-speech or make obscene or vulgar comments.
Don’t break the law.
This includes libel, condoning illegal activity and contempt of court (comments which might affect the outcome of an approaching court case).
Don’t engage in ’spamming’.
Don’t advertise.
You can mention relevant products and services as long as they support your comment.
Don’t pretend to be someone else or claim you are from an organisation that you are not.
Don’t upload content unless you own the copyright for it, unless the copyright holder is credited.
Avoid where possible posting in a language other than English.
Protect your privacy and that of others.
Don’t post private addresses, phone numbers, email addresses or other online contact details.
Stay on-topic. Please don’t post messages that are unrelated to the themes of ShoutOut.

Comments are moderated before going live. Comments will go live as soon as possible within a 48 hour period, or the next business day. If a comment contravenes the discussion rules it will not be published or will be removed from the site.
