These bits are important make sure that you read them!

When you register with ‘ShoutOut’ you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

Registration:

  1. Your registration details will only be used by 11MILLION and the Hansard Society for the purposes of ShoutOut. You will not be contacted about matters unless they are directly related to Shout Out. We won't pass them on or use them for anything else.
  2. Please complete the registration form as fully as possible. We won’t show your personal details on the website. Any content you upload will be tagged with your username.
  3. Don’t register anyone else. Do not pretend to be anyone else or from an organisation that you do not officially represent whilst using the site.
  4. If you are under 14 years old, please get permission from a parent or guardian.
  5. You will be given an automatically-generated password via email. You can change this password. You are responsible for keeping the password safe.

These are the rules. They help keep the discussion safe and about the issue.

We will check everything before it goes on the website to make sure this site is safe for you to use. All the people checking the site are trained by the Hansard Society and have passed checks by the Criminal Records Bureau (UK).

  1. All discussion should be lively positive and respectful.
  2. Don’t offend people because of their race, religion, gender, nationality, sexuality or other personal characteristic.
  3. Don’t swear, use hate-speech or make obscene or vulgar comments.
  4. Don’t break the law. This includes libel, condoning illegal activity and contempt of court (comments which might affect the outcome of an approaching court case).
  5. Don’t engage in ’spamming’.
  6. Don’t advertise. You can mention relevant products and services as long as they support your comment.
  7. Don’t pretend to be someone else or claim you are from an organisation that you are not.
  8. Don’t upload content unless you own the copyright for it, unless the copyright holder is credited.
  9. Avoid where possible posting in a language other than English.
  10. Protect your privacy and that of others. Don’t post private addresses, phone numbers, email addresses or other online contact details.
  11. Stay on-topic. Please don’t post messages that are unrelated to the themes of ShoutOut.

Comments are moderated before going live. Comments will go live as soon as possible within a 48 hour period, or the next business day. If a comment contravenes the discussion rules it will not be published or will be removed from the site.

ShoutOut project and site:

  1. 11MILLION and the Hansard Society owns all copyright and other intellectual property rights for ShoutOut. IP of the technology supporting the ShoutOut site is owned by Vohm.
  2. 11MILLION and Hansard Society can suspend, change, withdraw or cancel ShoutOut or site content for any reason at any time. Wherever possible changes will be highlighted in advance on the site and explanations provided.
  3. 11MILLION and the Hansard Society do not accept any responsibility for the unavailability of ShoutOut, any difficulty in accessing the site. The project partners are in no way responsible if the site is not working or if you can’t get on.
  4. In the event of any dispute regarding ShoutOut, we won’t be drawn into a big discussion if you don’t agree with our decision..
  5. 11MILLION and the Hansard Society can change the rules and amend these terms and conditions without notice. Changes will be posted on the site.
  6. If you put up comments that break the rules we won’t put it up. If you keep on you may be banned or suspended from the site.
