About

The ShoutOut website is where you have your say on the Children’s Commissioner’s plans for next year.

Message from Al

Al and the young people who attended the 11 MILLION event

Hi I’m Al Aynsley-Green, the first ever Children’s Commissioner for England. It’s my job to lead 11 MILLION and to be an independent voice for children and young people. Every child or young person has the right to be listened to.

Young people organised the Shout Out event this summer where over 100 of you decided that you wanted me and my team to do something about “Violence, Abuse and Bullying”. That was the easy bit! Violence, abuse and bullying is a big issue which lots of people are already working to change - we need to make a plan about how I can work with you to make a real difference over the next year.

This is your chance to discuss what concerns you most about violence, abuse and bullying and what you want us to do about it. Think about what I can do as the Children’s Commissioner - how we can make a difference.

This is your opportunity to talk to other young people across the country and share your views at any time, or have a chat with me directly on Friday 2 November from 11:30-5:30.

I look forward to hearing what you have to say. Bye for now.

Professor Sir Al Aynsley-Green

Children’s Commissioner for England

Get involved

Start using the site by registering and setting up a profile. It’s quick, free and secure. We won’t share your details with anyone else.

After registration you can build links with other people, talk to experts and put your points across.

We’ve put together the following guidance for you to take a look at, which explains how to post a message and vote in a poll plus much more besides.

Who’s helping out

11 MILLION have a number of partner organisations helping out.

For ShoutOut, the Hansard Society has been brought on board. The Hansard Society is an independent organisation (www.hansardsociety.org.uk). They have an impressive record promoting democratic principles, especially helping young people’s voices get to the top of the decision-making tree.

The Hansard Society helped develop this site and will support 11 MILLION in managing it.

Because the issues are so big, 11 MILLION will be bringing together a whole bunch of other partners too - including youth groups and schools. Making this a very worthwhile community to be part of.
